Cafe Sidi Salem: Good views
This cafe spills down the cliff on the southern side of the Mahdia penninsula. The service is terribly slow, so allow for that if you want to have something to eat. You would assume that having to wait that the food would arive hot - not so. I think the waiters must save up the deliveries so that they don't have to keep on going up and down the steps. They serve the ubiquitous pizza, sandwiches, and fish. The best thing about this place are the views and also it is frequented by lots of young locals, so you can spend a long time seeing how they interact with each other. It's a good place to head to after a visit to the fort.Loos are Western-type, and clean.Past the Great Mosque, take the road parallel to the one that runs along the cliff edge.
