This Berber village is well known throughout Tunisia for its many handicraft workshops that produce since time immemorial pottery of all kinds (amphora’s, dinner services, etc.).

The artists, working in the fresh air, work under the admiring gaze of the villages visitors, original works

Guellala Warnings and Dangers

As the taxy driver told me, in this Berber Village you see ONLY MEN in the streets, as women are not allowed to go out except for 2 main occasions:
    1) when they visit their family

    2) when they attend weddings

I visited Guellala with my mom and we felt very strange and not at ease walking there, even if it was during daylight and local people were quiet friendly but very insistant and some even follow you in the streets
