Midoun's Town Hall, with its white walls and blue doors and shutters, has a similar design to many buildings in Jerba. The buildings are painted a strong white in order to deflect the strong sun.

Olives and olive oil are very popular in Jerba (At every restaurant where we ate in Jerba we were served olives as an appetiser and they featured often on our starters and main courses as well) and you can learn about the traditional manufacture of olive oil at the olive press in Midoun.

We passed a couple of attractive mosques in Midoun but none were open at the time. In any case, we probably wouldn't have been allowed visit as most mosques on the island are off-limits to non muslims.
