Yasmine: Interesting Nightlife
hislirem profile photo
hislirem 3 reviews

Yasmine area has more places for nightlife.
Our routine was: a drink in Sinbad Hotel's Bar (not cheap though). And then either el Pascha. Calypso is also a well-known club.
Both are the most lively night clubs. You may encounter a worldwide known DJ or a traditional Tunisian guy who makes Arabic music. :)) That's the surprise! We've been to both of them..
You have to be careful if you are women traveling without a male company. People are more than friendly sometimes.

Dress Code: No spesific dress code for the clubs.. Casual dressing is ok. You may wear from a night dress to jeans with hawaianas..

Brauhaus Yasmine: Brewpub!

A brewpub in the Yasmine area of Hammamet.
Tried a couple of different beers here, the helles was pretty average with an unusual taste but marzen much better, enjoyed that one (or two).
Just firing up the pizza oven as we left, no time to try one unfortunately.
Anyway if you're in the Yasmine area it's a good friendly place to visit.

Brauhaus Le Berbère #1: Brewery!

A brewpub in the city centre and of course we were bound to visit!
It's right next to the medina and very easy to find, a huge beer glass on the roof.
Beer was a little unusual, german names - helles and dunkel - not really like anything I've found in Germany, not unpleasant though and an awful lot better than the usual local offering of Celtia.
If in Hammammet has to be worth a visit.

shakespeare bar restaurant offers great value and quality for food and drinks in the daytime it offers english breakfast served all day then onto snacks and lunches then in the evening they offer a full al a carte menu at great prices
drinks are served all day into the early hours with happy hour prices
they offer regular entertainment with drag shows and belly dancing and for the sports fanatics they show all major sports events on large sky t.v they also have pool competions
there is a large front terrace and also a large beer garden they are english managed and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming
since writing this review the beer garden has closed although i am assured by the owner that this is temporary also the front terrace gives a light show most evenings in the summer and is used as an open air stage i must say that this is a really good improvement

Shakespears: Awful pub

I previously placed a tip about avoiding this pub in the Tunisia guide. I have since had a VT message from the owner stating that no one has ever complained about the entertainment in this pub.

The terrible entertainment at this awful pub was one of the main talking points at our hotel since it was closeby. I repeat avoid it!

My tip from Tunisa guide:

There is a bar called Shakespeirs pub in Hammammet which advertises nightly entertainment. For the sum of 10 Dinar you get to watch probably the worst pub act I have ever seen. It was supposed to be a drag act. Two guys dressed in womens clothes miming to really poor quality recordings .......... I just didnt get the point or the entertainment value. It is really dreadful, other people in our hotel mentioned that some of the other acts were also really bad. Avoid it, it is just a rip off. The draught beer was also flat, if you must go here drink bottles of beer.

well, what should we expect from a muslim, country ? ( thou, tunisia is an open one thowards the ocident ) and what can tunisia offer nite wise to it's visitors? yu can find reasonably priced snacks or the famous "chicha" (water pipe) available in the cafés in the town centre. Afterwards head for one of the open-air nightclubs, mostly on the beach and a stroll on the local souk and doin some shopping will be apreciated.

There is great nightlife in Hammamet. There are many cafés, bars, restaurants and discos. After dark the town is full of people, crowd everywhere. By 2 a.m. it's calm down.
In the evening go to a café (for example at the Kasbah) or the Canary (delicious ice-cream and pancake, but hard to find table) then you can go to a disco (for example Hotel Venus - free on weekdays). At the discos there is also arabic music, sometimes.

We split our visit to Tunisia in half, a week in Hammamet and a week in Port El Elkantoui. Our base for our time in Hammamet was the 4 Star Azizia hotel, which is located right on the beach.
