you can reach Nabeul on the railway via a branch line that passes through Hammmamet (very nice white a blue old station) and onto Bir Bou Regba. This is a modern station where you can change for a modern air-conditioned train up to the capital.The connections work well, and it would normally take around an hour to complete the trip (as opposed to 45 mins by road)If things go wrong, or the timings arn't quite right then you can always use the Louage system.
