The Chebika Oasis was nice because you had to walk a little to get there, unlike in Tamerza. However, there were kids pushing jewelry on us and a guide we didn't really need. The scenery is amazing though, and there is more to see than just the water.

This Palmery located in the mountains are really one of the most picturesque views we saw in Tunisia. The path are cleary marked so is very easy to reach the top, them some staircases bring you down the Gorge.

In the old village of Shabikah, you can see that the houses have been eroded by the water, making the people leave. As there was no concrete or steel when these houses have been builded, they can easily be flooded.

When you come inn the old village, you will see the new village laying a little lower. The new village has been constructed in the 70's, becouse the water that comes out of the mountain had eroded the houses and other utilities in the old village. The water that attracted them to come and live here, made them leave again as well...

I was in Chebika in August, the weather was very hot, so these springs were a perfect place to relax and enjoy a swim.
