We visited the Theatre on my first trip to Carthage. When we arrived the cleaners were busy removing all the rubbish that had been left behind the previous evening. Virtually all of the theatre has been reconstructed and it is almost impossible to find any of the original stones. Now it looks like what it is - a reconstruction, and not a good one at that!
Our tour guide went down to the stage to show us the accoustics of the theatre. Admittedly they were pretty impressive.
Unique Suggestions: If you visit the theatre, book to go when there is a performance. At least there will be something of interest other than the architecture.
Fun Alternatives: Visit some of the other areas of Carthage where more of the ruins remain.

It seem like a tourist trap to me, when a tour guide take to the market. When i went to the market, it seem like i was being corner in the shop and could not leave until i buy something. And you have to push your way out of the shop. It was crazy! Other then that it was not to bad.
The only thing that made it a poor experience for me is, I had some one try to take something out of my book bag.
Unique Suggestions: If you have to go, don't take the frist price they give you. Talk them down. If they don't bit, just walk away. Then they will take your price. Atleast it work for me. Also if you don't intend to buy anything don't stop and look at anything or pick it up. That when they will jump all over you. Other then that i had a great time there.

In every site you will be hamnging around, you will be stopped by some people trying to sell you “old coins”. That is clearly a tourist trap as those coins are NOTHING, just copies and bulls***s!!! So, take care!!!

Not really a trap, but be aware that when you buy a ticket at any of the historic sites, you get one valid to all the sites but only for that given day, so you cannot use it the following day, even if you missed something.
Unique Suggestions: Visit everything in one day (I know most tourists do this anyway).
