One with a good zip! There are pickpockets about so it's best to take travellers cheques and only cash how much you need. I found it best to have a purse on a string that I wore round my neck and under my clothes.I had a shoulder bag so I could always have my hand over it as well! Shoes that are easy to walk in are a must, especially if you're like me and have feet that swell up in the heat! I wore flip flops that were alright apart from a bit of rubbing! Plasters - as mentioned, I had problems with my feet swelling up in the heat and rubbing.Aftersun - when we ran out of this we had to order a few pots of yogurt up to our room and lay on our beds for a few hours covered in it to relieve the pain!High factor sun lotion - obviously!Anthisan.Rennie - I never get stomach problems but managed to on this trip! I didn't drink the water, but even having fruit washed in it seemed to give me an...

Make sure you take something to cover your head. It's hot outside and you may end up with an insolation if you don't cover your head. Some traditional foods, also very tasty, may upset your stomach. Take some medicine to calm it. I don't know about digotal cameras, but don't worry about your traditional camera. You can find films and batteries in any little settlement.

it really depends on where you go and what your plans are:tourist resort: casual clothesSahara: it can get really cold at night, so take a sweater with you! Good shoes are advisable, too!smaller towns: be sure to cover shoulders and legs!

Because of religious reasons, Alcohol is very hard to find in Tunesia. I would recommend anyone who likes a glass in the evening, to take one or two bottles of Scottish finest (or a bottle of Sangria if you prefer) to share on your balcony in the evening.

if you go to Sahara desert, bring a lightweight backpack as only confortable bag. Have also an smaller bag for your most precious things: passport, medicines, money. Keep that one always close to your body. Wear confortable desert walking boots. Up to your ankle. Strong but flexible. A hat or a cap is a must. At some hours of the day the caps with a little extension in the back (as those used in the old leggionnaires caps) are very useful. As everyone knows, although days are very hot in the desert, nights are also very cold, so it is good to have different sort of layers (T-shirt, sewatshirt, cotton shirt, pullover and/or anorak or cloth jacket) you can put on or off according to the temperature. Shorts are OK in general, but it is good to have the oportunity to attach to them 'the other half' so they can cover all your legs when necessary. That kind of sleeveless jackets with many...

Take some light and covering clothes if you plan to venture far from your resort town. Tunisia is a Muslim country, and in the south you will not get away in a short dress as easily as you might have made it in Sousse or Hammamet. If you plan a trip to the Sahara desert or some out-of-the-way Roman ruins, you have to take some clothes and shoes that will stand the severe conditions. When you choose clothes and (especially!) shoes for such outings do not forget about the scorpions. In resort town and major touristic sights you may use any camera you wish. You will easily find any film, except for top-end professional ones. But if you go to Sahara take the simplest thing and as much film you think you might need. Often you will not be able to find it there, as well as special batteries. Also, in Sahara, you are taking a risk of ruining your camera if it's too sophisticated as sand...

Ok, in the northern part the influence of the Mediterranean Sea makes it... bearable. But light clothes is of course recommended. The further you go to the central part it gets seriously hot... But I liked it!!! If you're visiting a mosque, wear sth that is covering your legs and shoulders (the rest of the body of course) or the will give you ... a piece of long cloth to cover yourself! SUNSCREEN LOTION.... LOOOOAAADS OF IT!

We went in winter, so really I know what to take in January only:) Wasn't very cold, but its good to have a rain jacket and some warm clothes. We were surprised how much Tunisia have changed in past few years! Now there isn't a big problem to buy something you need, but if you need something inparticular - take it with you that you don't waist your time looking for it.

I would strongly recommend to wear light cotton clothes and to dress conservatively. You will see Tunisian women in all types of dress, from wearing traditional clothes and having their hair covered, to some very tight clothes. If you are like me and obviously look foriegn. you will already attract quite a bit of attention because you look so different and you do not want to attract any additional attention to yourself. Long cotton skirts or loose pants, light cotton blouses etc. I did wear sleeveless blouses a couple of times because of the heat, but if I was outside the hotel area or around people. I always covered with a jacket.Sunglasses are a must also! Bring tons of sunscreen and I mean tons! The sun is very bright! I would also bring all your toiletries from home, especially if you are going to Southern Tunisia, they may be difficult to find. Not to be gross, but some Immodium...

PLEASE do not bring your nicest clothes. Bring tank tops, jeans, sneakers and anything comfortable. It is hot and dirty and you will rarely find a chance to dress up! Bring toilet paper! It's very hard to come by and you will never be so thankful to have a roll of Charmin in your backback at a dirty bar bathroom. Disposable cameras come in handy!!
