The favorite restaurants are mostly the included restaurants of your hotel. Here the people have to take care about what they give you to eat.But the meal is really exquisite and good! Try the Tunisia Wine.(Tunisia has a French colony)

At 'Bonaparte':In the middle of dining, the lights went off...Everyone was like,'okay, who blew the fuse?'.But then music starts,a spotlight is switched on,and a bellydancer starts to entertain in between the tables.Unexpected therefore in my opinion, fun.

In fact we only visited one restaurant outside the hotel Marabout, but I really like to recommend Bonaparte Restaurant and pub. The atmosphere was nice, a tunisian girl was having a danceshow, she was also inviting guests for a dance, friendly staff. Chicken Filet with shrimp sauce!!Ice Surprise.

The Marco Polo Restaurant in Hammamet is where we spent the majority of our evenings. The food there is delicious and the service was brilliant. We tried many restaurants in hammamet, but this was my personal favourite. The prices in the Marco Polo were reasonable, and if the staff recognise you after a couple of visits, a free bottle of wine is usually thrown in. The local speciality - brik, was my favourite dish. A mixture of egg and meats (like omelette) wrapped in batter.

find the students' refectory where you can get a meal for 150 millimes (NOT dinars) - practically giving it away! the lybanese breakfast - the best fresh orange juice i have ever tasted from the guys who have had their stall on the street for years (and kept their original prices). and those sweets!

It is not problem to get a good food in Tunis, you can choose between local cuisine and european foods. From local cuisine you should try hommos, brik, kebab, chicken meal kuskus and sweet baklawa desert.

by ankx

Tunisian DishesThe tradition of lovingly caring for the vine has continued unbroken from Magon's day. The fine wines of Tunisia are found in most restaurants and can be consumed for a fraction of the price of a good wine in most parts of the world. The national dish, couscous, a stew of vegetables with meat or fish and fish served on a bed of steamed semolina grains, originated with the Berbers. The Arabs introduced the spices and the cooked, aged butter known as smen. Italians added tomatoes to the sauces and the French introduced the concept of separate courses. The Turks were responsible for the sticky, honey-oozing pastries
