Definately not a tourist trap. Northern Uganda has been destroyed by 18 years of civil war. I just visited Gulu, on a humanitarian mission. Every night 1000's of children walk to local hospitals and school to sleep, in safety. If they stay in there homes, the threat of abduction by the rebel army, is very real. Although it is not a safe place to be, I would go back in a heart beat.
