House of Olel Restaurant: North goes East
As you can see from the photo the thought of a big plate of Malakwang got the street kids all fizzy knickered!
And they are not the only ones who get impressed when a restaurant offers some of northern Uganda’s favourite delicacies. I wasn’t really that hungry but I couldn’t resist a plate of Dek ngor. Sadly the ground sesame seed and green pea dish had been sold out so I lapped up a plate of Malakwang with sweet potato instead.
Favorite Dish: Malakwang
Aswaad Indian restaurant: “Yes we have it”
I ate here two days on a run at this veggie Indain restaurant. Pretty extensive menu here and I did ask if everything on the menu was available but when I asked for the Gujerati thali there was a look of relief on the face of the owner.
“Yes we have it” he smiled.
Favorite Dish: 6,000 UGX for the Gugerati thali seemed reasonable value.
Indulge: great coffee and delicious sandwiches
