As you can see from the photo the thought of a big plate of Malakwang got the street kids all fizzy knickered!
And they are not the only ones who get impressed when a restaurant offers some of northern Uganda’s favourite delicacies. I wasn’t really that hungry but I couldn’t resist a plate of Dek ngor. Sadly the ground sesame seed and green pea dish had been sold out so I lapped up a plate of Malakwang with sweet potato instead.

I ate here two days on a run at this veggie Indain restaurant. Pretty extensive menu here and I did ask if everything on the menu was available but when I asked for the Gujerati thali there was a look of relief on the face of the owner.
“Yes we have it” he smiled.
Favorite Dish: 6,000 UGX for the Gugerati thali seemed reasonable value.

I personally like the cafe latte there a lot.Nice pastas ,cakes and delicious sandwiches.Relaxed atmosphere,great service.Wireles internet available.Lots of used english written books and magazines available(1Dollar a book).Nice wines to buy.Mainly frequented by the white community to have a chat and enjoy food and coffee.
Favorite Dish: egg and bacon sandwich and a fresh made juice.
