Possibly the best Indian in the East of Ugandan.
Not just an Indian restaurant and not just a restaurant as there is a bar that can get quite busy on certain nights of the week. The Indain food is really good but they also serve things like African food as well as things like pizza.
Favorite Dish: Palak paneer and garlic naan all washed down with a nice cold Nile

One of many decent local cafes serving Ugandan staples. Another local cafe i liked was Tower restaurant not unsurprisingly near the Clock Tower.
There are 2 branches of Mukwano Restaurant but found the service there terrible and the waitress was reluctrant to give me the change from my chai and chapati.

I ended up spending a lot of time in the Taufiq. The tea is excellent, the maharagwe isn't bad and staff here are a right good laff so ended up going back for more cheek from the waitresses.
If you like me are quite partial to some miraa and you fancy a chew, during the afternoon just outside the Taufiq is where the miraa sellers congregate.
Favorite Dish: Maharagwe na Ugali. there are plenty of meat dishes but being a veggie it was usually greens or beans for me.
