Mburu National Park
Robert tells us to look out for wild animals as we drive through Lake Mburu National Park, and it isn’t long before I spot a herd of Impala grazing by the side of the road. Robert reverses back so that we can get a better view of them and take some photographs. Lake Mburu National Park is one of the newest of Uganda’s National Parks – we don’t actually enter the park as such, just drive through it. Other animals found here include topi, oribi, klipspringer, buffalo, waterbuck, reedbuck, warthog, baboon and vervet monkeys, and hippo and crocodile live in the lake. There is a wide range of water birds, and the crested crane, saddle billed stork and Abyssinian ground hornbill are all resident. All we see however is impala on the way down to the Rwanda border and zebra on the way back
