Rock Gardens is a open pub in the heart of the city, it is run by the speke hotel. This night club is ccrowded during the weekends. It has a large dance floor and since it is open, there is enough place to sit and have a nice time if you are not interested in dancing. During the weekdays there is not too much of crowd. But the music and the ambeince is both good. This place is mostly visited by Ugandans and Indians.

Ugandans are very outgoing people, especially on weekends. Do not, however, expect much fun on sundays because most of locals stays at home in that day healing their wounds after tempestuous sunday. Actually, it's local habbit to get drunk on sunday evenings, my first neighbor invited me to join him and his companions and get "dead drunk" as he mentioned.
I used to go in the couple of clubs, enjoying in good music and watching locals who dance extremely good. My choice were clubs with african music only because it's full of rhytm and just amazing.

First to be mentioned, this guys are excellent musicians, they keep rhytm all the time and make no mistakes. It was amazing experience, listening such a fine music which comes out of nothing. All instruments are hand made, from wood and leather, and yet they perform superior tunes.
The show was conducted by Okello and the guy is great. It was funny to know by him that Acholi people use names which for females starts always by "a" and for males by "o".
Finaly the dancing group. The whole show lasted more than two hours and they never stopped dancing. The coreography was excellent, same as dancing they performed.......

Basement is at the back side of Hotel Equitoria. A relatively new nightcub, it is one of the best in terms of the look and ambience. The dancefloor is decent. The entry fee is high, it was 10,000 shillings when it started. Normally frequented by the Ugandans and indians. It is a nice place to sit anc chill out with your friends. The DJ and music very good. Thney also play Indian and Labanese music.

if you can talk you can sing and If you can walk you can dance. Now then, off to the old industrial area to Club Silk and/or Ange Noir. The 2 Disocthekues are relatively close to each other.
If you want you can stay in Equatorial Hotel and go Lords, a quiet exclusive location.
Dress Code: just be cute.

Ange Noir is a disco located in the old industrial area, which is just 5 minutes by taxi from the area where the most importants hotels are located.
There are two different areas, the normal area and the VIP area, with different entry price. If you pay entry for the VIP you can move anywhere in the disco.
VIP area is located upstairs. It has a small dance floor and several sofas. On the other hand, you have a very big dance floor in the common area, where you can enjoy a wide variery of music.
As in almost all the places in Kampala, you have several TV's for enjoying some football match.

Address: Old industrial area. Kampala.
This is the best watering hole in Fort Portal. It’s been around for years apparently under several owners. Quite often you'll be lucky to get in the door if there is a big English Premiership Footie match on the box. Wednesday afternoon sessions seem to be a bit of an institution in the Gluepot for many of the white population in the area, for years people have come for miles to get hammered here.

Located at Bujugali falls at Jinja, the Nile river explorers bar is one of the liveliest places in the area! We visited after hearing that 25 Americans were staying and deciding to make a night of it.
The site is just a small bar with a roof, located right next to the Nile (the original launch site for Adrift many years ago) but has great music, a cheap bar and a mini Football table. We spent the evening playing football and really getting to know some of the river guides really well.
The party goes right through the night for those with enough stamina, if you are staying at the Adrift site just get a taxi (Special car hire - about 5,000Ush) there and back.
Dress Code: There is a very strict dress code that as far as I could tell was 'wear whatever you want' and in many cases 'as little as you want'
