Last time I was in this neck of the woods the road from here in Soroti to Lira was terrible. Two different companies were building / resurfacing the road from either end. Both ends of the road were pretty good but by the time you got to the middle in Dokolo it was a right mess.
The Soroti end looks all but complete with swanky new road signs giving road distances in kilometers to towns along the Lira highway as well as white lines along the side of the road and some substatial storm drains.
It's is just a shame that whoever wrote the sign for the turn off to Amuria put the 'U' upside down, so now it looks like you are going to Amnria!

There is a perfectly good bus park in Soroti as well as a taxi park for more localised travel but bus companies seem more and more reluctant to use it.
Teso Coach on the other hand have there own Bus Park not a million miles away from the bus park on the crossroads on Main Street near "The Gardens". It has its own booking office as well as a cafe to while away the time while you are waiting for you bus.

Soroti does sometimes rock especially now that it can boast its own Night Club. The locals here seem to be well chuffed that they now have Trends disco in town, which is open on Friday and Saturday......
