Fondest memory: With a population of 3,5 mill. people, Lusaka is considered to be one of the fastest growing cities in Africa. It's a city with both gravel roads and bitumen roads, dilapidated houses with flat corrugated roof and modern concrete buildings. The pavements are in use for street sellers.
This town is really confusing... The 2nd city in the world where I've managed to get lost (the 1st was New York). Go&visit the university!!!
Fondest memory: I found really great friends in Lusaka&in Zambia in general, they treated me like a member of their family.
And the food...
Fondest memory: Lusaka is the capital and the largest city in Zambia. The population is 3,5 mill. people. But it is a city of low buildings. The exception is some few buildings around Cairo road in downtown.
Fondest memory: Most of the banks and many money change offices can be found along Cairo Road. The exchange rate was slightly lower than the rate in Livingstone. 1 USD was 4700 Kwacha (August 2009).
