Livingston is a nice community and the access to the National Parks and wildlife are excellent. I found that the best way to get off the beaten path is on a multi-day river trip through the remote upper canyons on the Zambezi River. This expedition puts on below Victoria Falls and takes you on a remote journey down the Zambezi. The beach camping is amazing and the food prepared by the guides was some of the best food I had while in Zambia.
This expedition has an incredible African feel with no crowds. If you are looking to get off the grid this is the experience for you
