Chiredzi is located on the border of the Gona Re Zhou(Place of elephants) National Park. This is about as wild as it gets in Africa - Ammenities are simple ("long drop" loo's), and if you're lucky, a small thatched shelter without walls.
I've spent many a time here, often without seeing another person, but plenty of wildlife to keep you busy, and it must be stressed, that it is just that WILD! Don't heed this advice and you may well be eaten/ trampled on.
It is very hot, average summer temps of 35 deg C and dry.

Chiredzi is an ideal place to base yourself if you are wanting to visit Gona Re Zhou Game reserve. There are also many luxury safari lodges and private game reserves within a 50Km radius. 3 Country......
