Take some time go get to know the people. Evryone goes to Vic. Falls. Not everyone takes the bus from Mutare to Chimanimani, which is an easy trip and a good chance to chat with folks. My best friend and new brother, Blessing Mudzengerere. I also really miss backpacking in Chimanimani .

Victoria Falls. Fly over it to get the greatest view. Full scale buffet breakfast with every type of food imaginable at the Victoria Falls Hotel. After two weeks of limited food variety, having been stuck in Zambia whilst the government changed currency, this was heaven.

Hippo paradise!

Visit Mana Pools National Park. It really is a wonderful park, there are lots of animals here, hippos and elephants being the most abundant, and the scenery here really is fantastic... I miss the curio shops in Zimbabwe, they are everywhere, and if you bargain hard enough you can get some amazing gifts for next to nothing...

Go to Victoria Falls - one of the 7 wonders of the world, and the wettest experience you'll ever have. Be prepared though, it's not light drizzle, it's like getting into the shower fully clothed! My best memory is skydiving over Victoria Falls - terrifying but so exhilarating. And you get a free flight over the falls - the best thing I've ever done.

I really enjoy half-way house on the way between Harare and Beira, Mozambique... Hell I enjoy the entire road there... just the nature of it... Can't really remember what the name of the safari-park I went to last time I was there, but anyway the wardens where riding on elephants (african ones) with their ak47:s ready, looking out for poachers... that was cool. Great game too...

Visit Harare and Bulawayo, the two main cities, the wildlife parks and enjoy the beautiful nature of the country like Lake Kariba, Lake Chivero and Vic Falls. The fondest memory I have of Zimbabwe must be the connection you feel with the land and the elements. The contrast between Europe and Africa is enormous and out there in the bush you feel very small indeed.

Fly over Vic Falls in an ultralight, and descend into the Gorge of the river!Go rafting on the river at Vic Falls- enjoy the 'flush' of Devils toilet and Oblivion rapids!!Visit Hwange National Parkl- sleep under a starry sky, with elephants trumpetting end drinking underneath you (go on top of a wooden look-out construction).Learn to speak the local language- Ndebele in my case: Litshonile!Laugh en enjoy! Night with eles underneath me (see above).African Painted Hunting Dog Reseach.Tyhe smell, sound, trot, beauty of these remarkably well adapted animals.Sleep in the rain, inbetween cockroaches and wake up with a bloody crest on your leg... a scarf that is still shining after 2 years...Watch a very small person run and jump, in his hunt for giant flying termites.Dance in the bush and get integrated with the local people.

Get waterlogged, its worth it!!

by CDNgirl

see Victoria Falls. It isn't one of the seven natural wonders of the world for nothing!! We were there just at the end of the rainy season, so the millions of tons of water tumbling over the edge was even more spectacular. We got sooooo wet, but we didn't even care!! So use your rain jacket, even if, in the beginning it doesn't seem like you need it, trust me, by the end of the walk through the rain forest you will be very glad you took my advice!!!(I wish I could show the picture of the 'drowned rats' that we resembled!!)

Friendly and happy people everywhere! Wonderful animals everywhere!
