In Zimbabwe's parks you are supposed to be back night fall. How can you when your watching the sun-sets someplace every eve!
So, we were lucky to see this good looking LIONESS before us. Craig, our guide has
a huge spot light. Never shine into the animals face. Just near by for some light.
Maybe the pic will come out, maybe not.
    10/1999

Gets chilly, bring and extra shirt on the late drive.

When you have your tent set-up with the front
sitting almost to edge of the bush. It is pitch black out. When you have something taking
a leak outside your tent. When you hear
JACKALS and LIONS. Just relax and enjoy!!

Well. In Zim , I don't think that there are to many clubs to go to. Maybe a few in the major cities. Nightlife in Zim consists of sitting around a fire , 'braaing' (Like a Barbaque) meat and talking about the fish that got away. If you meet the locals at any spot in zim , just don't try and drink them under the table , THEY are HARD CORE drinkers.
The Owls at night .. The sounds of Nature.. Just sit down and listen.. Turn off all your electronic equipment , the lights , sit in the dark and listen to Africa....

Zim can get cold , but its mostly HOT as hell.. Ussaly most Zimbabwians sleep during the mid day (or drink until they pass out ) Fishing consisted of us , Waking up at the Crack of Dawn , fishing until around 9 , Lazing around the pool until 3 in the afternnon , then back out fishing until last light.
So wear somthing that can protect you from the SUN. Take sunglass's..

I guess, it's what they call a booze cruise, but I not only enjoyed the beer:
we saw monkeys, elephants, lizzard and an absolutely gorgeous sunset over the Zambezi river!

    Playing 'laser wars' in Harare...

  • Playing 'laser wars' in Harare with your friends is not something I expected to happen in a third world country. But its great! Its a play, where you are running around, trying to shoot your friends with a laser dot from your 'gun'. After 5 minutes you are completely exhausted, so be prepared. If you are shot, it is completely painless (not like in paint-ball). We had a lot of fun!
