Sleeping Giant!

by safardreams

Our last full day in HWANGE PARK. Howcould anyone guess we would find a loneHIPPO sleeping in this water hole.Craig had parked the truck hardly 10ft away.He took a bottle, and lightly tapped it under the water. Craig must have know he was in a DEEP-SLEEP! The HIPPO never moved.

White water rafting on the mighty Zambezi

by Alain_Smeets

We did a half day rafting trip with a company called Shearwater. It was amazing, extraordinary, it's impossible to catch it in words on paper. An experience like this has to be done and not written about or read. I try to catch some of those moment here with you. What does names like "Morning Glory", "Stairway to Heaven" or "Midnight dinner" tell you. Nothing, well these are some of the names of the grade 5 rapids that you pass while you are doing white water rafting with these guys."Morning Glory" will eat you, the "Stairway to Heaven" makes you think that you are invincible and the "Midnight dinner" will chew you up. You don't believe me, well read my Victoria Falls travelogue "Rafting on the roaring Zambezi" or even better when you are in Victoria Falls go to their office and book a rafting trip. You will see it will be one of the best things you ever did in your life.GO FOR IT !!!!.On...

Going fishing on the Zambezi...

by ratcorp

Going fishing on the Zambezi river was one of the most exilirating expereiences of my Life. We had a boat , a expereienced river guide , and WOW. Its so awsome to travel on a river that has real crocodiles , hippo's and loads of other wild animals. Was great to find some hot water springs that were so hot we couldn't put our feet into the water(Looked like it was boiling water) And the fishing.. the bird life ,... It was like a savage paradise. (Photo of Sunset on the Zambezi river near Deka )Deka is a river that leads into the Zambezi (near Wanky Coalary) It has a very famous fishing camp is renuned for been one of the best fishing spots on the Zambezi.
