Lunch is on the Way by Bwana_Brown The day after we arrived in Zimbabwe, at the end of our South Africa trip, we enjoyed a 50-km drive through the countryside outside Harare. We stopped at the small town of Marondera to enjoy a really nice open air complex that included craft stores, a rose garden, horses and a restaurant. It was quite enjoyable to wander around under the African sun and just take it all in! We had a very nice lunch here before heading back into Harare. Near the end of our visit, we also went out for an evening meal at a restaurant in Harare itself. The three of us enjoyed our main course meals with wine as well as desert for 210 Zim $. For the traveller, the prevailing exchange rate means this evening out cost US$20 total (and that was in 1995 before things further de-valued). Now that is a good deal! NICE VISIT by safardreams Being a quiet place and very rustic looking. I would suggest anyone to stay there. They do give you much food. I had the sea-food dinner that first night. Had to leave the next morn. for our safari. The ZIMBABWE WINE, I'll just say: "Glad our guide brought some with us!"
The sea-food. It just tastes so different then what I have at home. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalAddress: Near VIC-FALLS

table bird by sachara At the main camp in Hwange National Park was a restaurant for snacks, a good meal and drinks. There was also a shop, but we took our breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant. At lunchtime, when we sat outdoors on the terrace, this bird was our regular visitor, looking if there was someting to eat. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by kryzzo We went, my friend and I, to eat at the hotel buffet one night! As we started picking juicy meat slices and balls from some plates, we asked the cook what meat it was he was serving us! He told us to come back and ask him the question when we had finished eating! After diner, we came to him and were told we had been served elephant!! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by anaiis Hotel in Nyanga - Rhodes Nyanga Hotel offers amazing English breakfast. It was my first time having a steak for breakfast! I ate everything I could (but still lost weight). Cereals, steak, bread, pancakes, eggs... I have never done such a overeating orgy in my life before and after this event. The hotel itself is quite beautiful and just vis a vis Nyanga Dam Lodges, where we stayed.
You can also prepare a good low budget meal by your own. I lost a lot of kilos with that strategy! Cheese is a bit expensive (for Zimbabwe), but bread is good (in some countries it is awfull), you can also get cereals etc. You can try dried worms, if you like. I tried to prepare them myself, but they smell awful and I didnt like the taste. Here I am on this pre-prepared picture with Herald beside the fireplace, eating fried dried fish. Its delicious.
