    When visiting the Falls
    You will get wet.
It is important to wear clothing which does not cling too much when wet (like white T-shirts). Shoes which absorb water easily are not a good idea (rather wear open sandals).
You can rent umbrellas and raincoats at a price at the stalls before you enter the Park.

    Sunscreen
    Mosquito Repellent
Hat to protect you from the African sun

Protect your camera! My travel buddy had a great idea and brought his underwater casing with. That made it possible for him to take great photos in areas of heavy spray and 'rain'. Otherwise, take a watertight plastic cover, as it gets very wet at some areas!

    Moisture cream and suntan lotion

  • I bought moisture cream and suntan lotion in Victoria Falls Pharmacy, and both were maybe the worst brand I have tried. I didn't see imported items in the pharmacy. I strongly recommend to bring your own. Good toothpaste and soap can be bought in the Spar market.

    Spray from the Falls

  • The guidebooks tell you to wear showewrproof gear when visiting the Falls, especially from the Zambian side... Forget it! Nothing can protect you from the amount of spray that the Falls generate. It's like having buckets of warm water thrown at you and you're soaked to the skin in seconds. The bonus is that it's so hot you dry off in minutes once you're clear of the Falls.

The local authorities spray the vicinity of Victoria Falls with insecticide to reduce the risk of malaria to tourists. Having said that, as soon as you leave Vic Falls the mosquitos are waiting for you so take malaria prophylaxis.

There's so much water (you can't call it spray) near the Falls that ordinary cameras will be ruined in seconds. Keep your gear in a plastic bag and don't be tempted to take it out when you're near the water.

The sun is very intense and you're fooled by the cooling effects of the spray from the Falls. Use lots of sunscreen.

If you are visiting the falls in summer you definately need something against the rain from the falls.........

I have been there in winter and it was quite wet experience.......Also bring good shoes if you want to go to Zambia as well...itīs quite a way into the neighbor country!
