Yeah. It's a chain. Yeah. It's fast food. And yeah. It's better than Spur!!! The burger I had here was way better than what I had at Spur. If you want something that is edible and tasty, come here. If you need something for a door stop, go to Spur.

Now I have eaten at Spur in the past (in South Africa) and recalled it being very good. So I have no idea what the problem is here at this one in Victoria Falls. My food was absolutely atrocious and the sauce in the bottle on the table was so watered down that when I went to pour some out, it all flew out of the bottle onto my plate...and table. Totally disgusting. Go to Wimpy instead of here.

Amulonga restaurant is a large open-air style restaurant, which allows guests to dine al fresco with live African music and dancing and plenty of local delicacies.
Similar to The Boma, this restaruant has the Zambezi river as a backdrop and the distant roar of the Falls as music!
Amulonga meaning "by the river" is the only restaurant on the banks of the Zambezi in Victoria falls with breathtaking views of the river and it's famous sunsets
It is Also Renowed For Its Traditional Shows Every Evening While Guests Enjoy Their Meals.
Favorite Dish: The barbecue Sampler is Great!

In the lovely Gusu Forest and partly open to the night sky, The Boma restaurant is a unique cultural experience! Guests begin each meal with a hand-washing ceremony, moving on to a traditional beer and starters. Following this, a four-course meal offers a la carte starters with a barbecue buffet that includes such local delicacies as mopani worms and game stews.
Nightly entertainment is provided by Shangaan dancers and singers, as well as the restaurant's traditional storyteller, who regales guests with tales of the country's folklore, culture, and heritage.
Favorite Dish: Mopani Worms -- seriously!

This place is set in the wilderness, offering far-reaching views of the forests.
You will definitely see game gathering at the watering hole around dusk, kicking up huge clouds of dust as they approach.
Favorite Dish: Tiger fish, mainly because it was my first time. And I came to learn that this local fish really is like a tiger where its jaws are concerned.
Also it is very bony (not skinny), so preparing it (removing the bones) is very difficult, making the fruits of your labour all the more delicious!

I just had to try the Mopani Worms! They were well done, crisp, and did not really taste much. Elge tried the local beer Zambezi, and said it tasted good! (Elge is actually too young to drink beer, but the others kept giving it to him each time I turned around!) The group had splitted up and done different things during the day, like bungy jumping, rafting and microplane flying. We had a nice evening telling each other about our experiences. OK ambience, but more international than african.
Favorite Dish: Steak of sable antelope! Very good!!

I'm pretty sure this is neither the best nor the cheapest or whatever place in town, but out of a lack of alternatives I can suggest you going to "Mama Africa"
Favorite Dish: I just had a salad because it was so incredibly hot.

This is the best place for Game meat. Check out the board on the outside for the game and do the buffet. For N$100.000 (=U$ 15) you get a big buffet with a lot of meat in stews and on the grill. Two cooks are constantly there to fill the bowls and they cook the meat in front of you. OK, you will have to wait, but even that is no punishment, you'll see. Warthog, crocodile, kudu, wildebeast, impala and more and all very very tasty. All you can eat and after 8 helpings the smiles get bigger and bigger, something you don't see often in all you can eat restaurants.
Favorite Dish: Warthog - very tasty and Crocodile - absulute fantastic and nothing like fish. You will eat a lot here, because it is all good, especialy the meat on the grill.

We decide to have dinner at the hotel tonight, and the food is absolutely superb. David has chicken supreme, while I brave the crocodile in a cream sauce with mustard. Delicious, as is the dessert of ginger ice cream with mango sauce. We have two bottles of Pinotage to wash it down with.
I wake at 01:30 with terrible stomach cramps, followed by severe sickness and diarrhoea, obviously the revenge of the crocodile.

A taxi has been arranged to take us to the reastaurant for the complete dining experience. On the road there, the driver swerves to avoid a herd of buffalo crossing the road.
The members of staff at the Boma are all in traditional costumes; it is a big and commericalised place, it is so obviously arranged for tourists.
This is a BBQ with a difference. As well as all the usual meats: pork, chicken, beef and lamb, there is buffalo, crocodile, kudu, wathog, ostrich and impala. OUr favourite is warthog, very juicy, tender and tasty. With the meat we have two bottles of Zimbabwean Pinotage.
In a little hut by the entrance, the shaman is charging US$1 to tell you your fortune. I am predicted to have a long life, some illness but it will not be life-threatening, and my career will take a surprising turn. David is also to have a long life, no illnesses and a successful career.
There is also a story teller walking around the tables reciting traditional folk tales, as well as a hair braider.
The chap from the sundowner cruise is part of the dance troupe performing for the guests, and he recognises us, which is nice.
The whole experience could have been tasteless, but it is actually very well done, and we really enjoy the evening, even though we eat and drink too much.
