The Kiwi's host the biggest party down here, their station is only 3km from McMurdo.They blacked out all the windows, and it actually felt like nighttime for a few hours.....

On Tuesday nights, you can take some beginner Square Dance lessons at Gallaghers. It is sometimes followed by some impromptu Swing Dancing!


Santa Claus and his helper were there to listen to what I wanted for Christmas.Unfortunately, there was no chimney in my dorm room..... I'll have to wait until I get home for my presents.

They put on a great Christmas Eve party here at McMurdo... from the decorations, to the finger food, and the dancing, it was a great night out in Antarctica!

The Coffee House on McMurdo Station is a great place to relax and have some coffee, beer or wine. Anything goes. Mukluks are welcome here.

Night lasts for six months... so plenty of time to enjoy "night life". Only problem is that there isn't much more than another bottle of beer and some old war stories to listen to.

As befits any cruise, the Captain hosted a farewell party at the end of the trip. It was a gerat excuse to put on your glad rags and party until the early hours of the morning.

With no local bars, restaurants, clubs or casinos, you make your own evening entertainment in Antarctica.
