Pack lightly
  • Tip Rating:
  • Bring some loose fitting and covering clothes if you don't want to buy the traditional Shalwar kameez (for men), long blouse, skirt (or wide dress) and scarf (for women). There are no good ladies shoes in Kabul. Just high heel party shoes and very simple plastic slippers.

Everything possible to buy in Kabul. Some places sell fake medicine though. It's better to buy Iranian drugs and not Pakistani.

    Film not necessary to bring.

Most things are possible to buy in Kabul.

    Pretzels are hard to find!
  • Tip Rating:
  • A portmanteau and a cool box are indispensable!

Sandals, a scarf, knickerbockers, a sloppy sweater, a gas mask, sunglasses, a folding umbrella. A camouflage kit is vital.

A tried and tested remedy against scabies would be useful. Suntan lotion, frostbite ointment, surgical instruments and earplugs.Don't forget your first aid box!

An infrared camera is a handy doodad!

An abandoned El Qaida shack will do.

Make sparingly use of your pretzels! Don't forget to bring your multifunctional satellite dish (it's a great wok!).
