What to pack for Velayat-e Kandahar

Miscellaneous: The main language for Kandahar province is Pashto. Pashto is not the most common language in the world so it can be a bit hard finding language guides. There some decent ones out there. The Lonely Planet Central Asia has a good size Pashto section with a lot of common traveller terms. If you can get a hold of one the United States Marine Corps has an Afghanistan Culture Smart Card that deals with Pashto. It is mostly deals with military terms but it does have pictures for some objects so you can point at since many people here don't read. Rosetta Stone has language software in Pashto and there are many lessons to go through but it is fairly pricey.
