Burqa
Under the Taliban's rule of Afghanistan, women were required to wear these burqas. A burqa is a garment that just about covers the women's entire body. The eyes are even covered by a net that greatly reduces visibility. When I was in Kandahar province they were still the norm for young ladies and women to wear. Almost all of them seem to be in this colour of blue. I know a lot of women don't like these because they are seen as an oppresion tool which I can easily understand but I still find them to be an interesting souviner. I only paid like US $3 for the one in the picture. It is of decent quality which is okay because I am not actually expecting it to be worn.
