Throughout the year, Jalalabad has variety of fruits in the market. Autumn and winter: banana, orange called "kino". Summer and spring: melon, watermelon, mango, grape. The price is very cheap. All the fruits are ripen from the trees and most of them are brought from Pakistan.
So easy for me to make fresh natural fruit juice during the hot season: ice cube and mixed fruits blender them all and put it in the refrigerator! YUMMY! No additive or preservative.

There are very many sound-western-restaurant - burger, pizza, juice - in the city but most of them are (afghan) burger. It is not really burger like "usual" one but more like flat afghan bread (nan) with chips, boiled egg, little bit meat, and fresh salad.
In every restaurant, there are two style of dining rooms:
Men's dining room - only for men and usually it is a room with windows to enjoy the view outside or could be situated in a nice terrace.
Women's dining room - for women only, is in a close room with no access to enjoy the view. This dining room is also used for family

Jalalabad just didn't seem to have good food (unless you love greasy kebabs), though the restaurant at our hotel had good chicken (and Kebabs, of course), but also a great dessert. Chatt is the name and it's so good: it has fruit, like apples in a carbonated sweet yogurt.

Interesting city (on the way to Kabul)
