You don't always have to go to Sheraton,Sonargaon or this kind of 5* hotels to spend eveningtime with beer or some hard drinks. There are lots of bar here in Dhaka and Chittagong. And ofcourse you don't need to spend as much money as of 5* hotels. You may go to "RED BUTTON" and "SHALIMAR" restaurants, both situated in Farmgate. You can enjoy there upto 11.30 pm with some drinks alongwith some delicious kabab and other snacks/foods.
You can find some other bars like "SAKURA" (opposite of Sheraton, a beautifull one),"HOTEL LA VINCI" (at Kawran Bazar, barman is a real genius). You can find some other bar/pub in places like Banani,Gulshan,Uttara,New Market etc.

In Chittagong, you can find "Hotel Shajahan" ( beside the New market/Memon hospital),Railway's "Men's Store"(at B.R.T.C bus station/ Fruit Market) with posh hotels like Hotel Agrabad,Hotel Saint Martin,The Peninsula etc.

There's nothing to worry about. Enjoy...

Dress Code: No dress code exatly, personal choice.

IC is a member's only club wherein there are weekend parties happening and also lots of other activities like music nights, new year's party, christmas parties etc.
* Membership is almost impossible to get except if you are a diplomat or a corporate.
* You can enjoy one of the organized events though by purchasing a tkt or a pass for that evening.
* Drinks inside are not expensive at all, you can buy coupon books inside and trade them at bar. Usually a drink is 125 taka.
* Mostly, in organized events, dinner is included.
* Fun place, where people of all nationalities can be seen, there is a swimming pool, nice bar, tennis courts and a garden.

Dress Code: * For evenings, no strict dress code. You shld look good for yrself.

A mosque - no beer near here then!

Bangladesh is a Muslim country so when you ask "where's the pub?" you're likely to get a rather puzzled look. There is no real nightlife in Dhaka - what little there is centres around hanging out in a fast food joint, going for a meal, or talking to guys on the street.

Illicit alcohol can of course be obtained but only if you know where to look (if you're in a decent hotel then the bell boy's always worth a try). Some of the top hotels are allowed to serve alcohol to foreigners. Dhaka isn't the safest city in the world so be careful where you wander and who you talk to after dark. Like most places, there is an expat scene with occasional parties and plenty of drinking, but to be honest, most tourists in town have an early night.

Nightlife does exist in the capital city but depending upon your definition of nightlife you'll have to be the judge if this is your kind of nightlife or not. There are social clubs open to the public but they are mainly used for large gatherings such as weddings or birthday parties.
If it is just a cold beer you want you are out of luck (Bangladesh is an Islamic country)....unless you don't mind heading over to the Dhaka Shreaton and paying nearly $5 usd for a Fosters beer.
