Hartal (protest)

Avoid traveling using car/taxi/bus around dhaka or some major places of bangladesh during "hartal" (protest/rally/political strikes). Rickshaws are the only mode to transport during hartal. Frequent hartals generally disrupt the normal life. Moreover, the poor suffers more during the hartal as they lose their income. It is generally believed that frequent hartals not only disrupt normal life, they also have a negative effect on the poor income earners of the city like the Rickshawpullers, day labourers, small shopkeepers, etc.
