High-end hotels, clubs and homes: Delhi Night Life

by Saagar

You may find a resemblance to high-end decadent night life in the top hotels in town and clubs and homes of international businesses and representations. If you are looking for a cold beer - none of that in the streets or local businesses - my best bet are the coffe bars, bars, and restaurants of the top hotels. A business jacket over a nice shirt, ok shoes will do (male).

Past Midnight Lounge: PM Lounge

by Stentorian

It's a good lounge restaurent. Foods are a bit expensive. Good atmosphere. Posh people, young Bengalis, party lover. Weekend night is good time for visiting. They organize party ones in a month. Starts at 6 pm till 3 AM. Choose your mocktail from a number of options. But NO ALCOHOL available. Try it! Not specific, but its better not to wear shorts. Who cares buddy! dress wild..lol

Night life in the countryside

by Saagar

There isn't much night activity in Bangladeshi villages outside festival times.Bring a book, torch, postcards and other self-entertainment things unless you want to hit the sack at 9 pm.Schools and religious institutions with boarding pupils and students organise devotional songs and music as the end-of-the day program, and this can be very, very beautiful and a moving experience, not to be missed.

The roast peanut peddler: Street hangouts

by Saagar

When night falls the remaining street peddlers set themselves up with kerosene lamps. The peanut sellers' portable stalls become places of snacks and light conversations - easy to mingle and you will help draw more cutomers. Your presence is much appreciated. And the nuts are good, too! Anything modest goes. But it's definitely after hours and longyi time.

The market block at Shantinagar: Dhaka markets after night

by Saagar

As a nightlife spot it's a bit odd, depending on your definition.I found it very, very interesting to visit the semi-indoor markets (fish, spices, vegetables, fruits, meat, garments, you name it) in the Shantinagar area after darkness has fallen outside. Here the freshest ingredients for today's dinner og tomorrow's breakfast are purchased. This is a good place to buy your mosquito net, too.Just take in the atmosphere and be prepared for a bit of stir; this ain't a tourist spot.

The nightlife in Dhaka is...

by FrodeK

The nightlife in Dhaka is limited due to it being a muslim country. You usually can't buy alcohol at restaurants, but you can buy elsewhere and bring it with you. Then they will take your bottles and serve you like if you should have bought it from them....rather funny actually.

Not much nightlife in...

by EskiMoe

Not much nightlife in Bangladesh. The best places are some of the international clubs. You have to be a member, or know someone who can invite you. Some clubs, like the Nordic Club, welcome most visitors. The Nordic Club has a good bar, and nice company. As informal as possible. Shorts are fine in the club - not outside.

Sssssss, gimme one dollar!

by CliffClaven

There's not much in the way of entertainment in Bangladesh, although with satellite TV you can now watch Manchester United or Real Madrid in the middle of the night. This is a Moslem country, and few bars exist apart from those in the five-star international hotels. The real entertainment can be found in the streets, watching the people, the rickshaws, the baby taxis - but don't go too close to the snakes!
