Just north of Chittagong city is a hilly area, some of it turned public parkland. This is a good place to go for a brisk walk and a breather. Part of the park is an amusement park with stalls with games for the children, lotteries and things like that you find in a tivoli. Further in you hit a lake and undulating walking trails. Very nice for a change. Sports shoes, just for trail and gravel walking.
Never did this myself, but the country really lends itself to biking holidays. Completely flat, and everything is geared to bike transport apart from the city centres in big cities and along the highways.One would need to be self-supported in terms of technology or go local on locally repairable bikes.The main problem would probably be reliable maps. Bring a sturdy mountain bike.
I was following and looking at these kids playing football on the narrow bank between rice fields. After a few hundred meters of kicking away they suddenly started fixing the irrigation sluice of a newly-planted rice field. This finished they kicked the ball back home to the village.
