Bandar Seri Begawan has quite a good shopping area, from little shops, to the ones located in the main Mall.

If you want to buy "fakes' then you can do it here.....If the price is cheap, then it is most probably a fake!

If you want top quality imports, then they are here as well. I saw the most beautiful huge Italian porcelain & crystal ornaments in one of the Mall large stores, very expensive and very nice! only wish I could have taken a photo, but the sign said "no Photo's", damn!!! .....Had never seen anything like it before.

Have a look at Ethnics Collection, Knic Knacks, Cinnamon Home Decor & Gift Shop, for smaller ethnic pieces such as wooden carvings, crystal ornaments, and handmade products .......as well .... a good mix of shops for Jewellery, Brass & silver wares, shoes, souvenirs, materials, and so much more!

My husband bought a nice watch at a reasonable price, and there was perfume in lovely bottles for me.

All the major credit cards are accepted at the stores.
Parking is available nearby and most of the parks are FREE.

There are very few places in Bandar Seri Begawan where you can find souvenirs of Brunei, and one shop selling souvenirs is located along Jalan MacAurther along the river front near to the Yayasan Shopping Complex (see photo). I cannot remember the name of this shop, but it sells mainly foodstuff and there is a small section on the shop front selling Brunei souvenirs. The Brunei souvenirs here are relatively cheap compared to the Brunei International Airport where there is another shop there selling souvenirs. What are the main souvenirs? Well, they are mainly cups, displays, paper-weights, keychains, fans etc. The cost ranges from $2-$20 Brunei dollars.

During every Saturday late afternoon till night, the stretch of Jalan Sultan road near to the river will be blocked and there is a Pasar Malam (night market) being set up here selling food, drinks and many other stuff where you can walk around and shop for cheap bargains.

The Yayasan Shopping Complex is one of the prominent landmarks of Bandar Seri Begawan. This shopping complex is conveniently located just next to the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and along the Brunei River waterfront area. It is made up of 2 buildings, one building consists of many shops selling various stuff such as clothings, handicrafts, VCDs, electronics, supermarket etc, while the second houses the Hua Ho Department Store (a big department store chain in Brunei). Besides shops, there are food stores here as well.

You can find an array of shops here in Yayasan Shopping Mall including a department store, supermarket and other specialised stores. The architecture of the buildings are reminicent of old village houses of the past

the handicraft centre offers a variety of hand-made clothes woven with gold threads, silverwares etc...

usually the first stop for royalty and diplomatic corps looking for gifts or souvenirs ...
