Some may dubbed this the Venice of the East but Kampung Ayer (literally translated as Water Village) is quite a site.

My fondest memory was driving up to Bandar and seeing the Sultan's palace. On the exterior, almost everything was draped in gold. One can only imagine what it looks like on the inside.

I was in Brunei for a night and spent the whole evening in Jerudong Park. So, I can only tell you about this park.

Visit all the magnificent mosques and take a trip to the water village Long Puasa holidays
Visit Kampong Air (see my travelogue). For shopping you could go to the Gadong area or to Yayasan Complex, but most Bruneians would fly to Singapore for their shopping!
