Make sure you try the food in this restaurant when you visit Brunei. They are unbelievably delicious and well, for us, very affordable compare to Restoran Kaizen Sushi. Almost all of the staff in every restaurants we been to are Filipinos so we didn't have a hard time communicating with them. Some of them gave us freebies too! Teh Tarik (local...

  • Pinoy staffs!

Western resto ambience, Filipino staff :)I kinda got tired eating spicy foods so I opt to eat some pasta! Woops! I found this resto near the Jaya supermarket. I like it because most of the staff are Filipino and I had a great time chatting up with them! :)

  • Indian food

I was tired and hungry from watching monkeys and visiting different mosques so I didn;t dare walk around and find a good place. I just sit and ordered food on a small restaurant near the bus stations before I head to my hotel. I had one cup of rice, one order of liver, one order of spicy eggplant and a jelly drink - all costs me $4.5

  • Nasi Goreng

There were just 2 stalls operating on a weekday when i went to Muara so there's not so much choice then. I had Nasi Goreng (fried rice) and a Buko juice all for $3.

  • Mall food

I was taken out to dinner by my Filipino friends and they brought me to The Mall. I couldn't remember the name of the resto take took me but it was on the foodcourt of The Mall. Shrimp

  • Don't miss the Rotis

This is a small hole in the wall family restaurant, where locals go. We had the best roti ever here.It was huge ,fresh and cheap at $5.00. Don't expect ambiance though. One toilet for all .

Nasi katok, a simple combination of rice and curried beef or chicken, which can be quite spicy. It's relatively inexpensive when compared to other food that you can buy, for example local food such as chicken rice. However, it is not a healthy option, with insufficient vegetables and too much fat.Ambuyat, a culinary experience unique to Borneo....

  • It's on the waterfront

It was open after 6pm. Unfortunately that was the main selling point. The food was okay and a mix of italian, which is clearly the style of the place, and also local food. All of the waiters are phillipino, because the locals won't work for the meagre wages apparently. All of them very pleasant but very keen to sell you a trip on the river whivch...

There are a number of restaurants in Gadong, many of which are mentioned in the guidebooks. The night I visited each one was deserted. Jalan Sultan; many people working in the nearby offices take lunch there; the menu “card” contains about 30 pages; plenty of choice; service rather quick. Food is not impressive but interesting Chinese soups. The waitresses are friendly and wear mini-skirts, which is a good surprise in Brunei! 5 to 10 US$. Chinese soups

  • outside

Eat sate and nasi goreng under the trees enjoying some cool air on the riverside, watching the boat taxis; several small stalls there, friendly people; just be patient service is not top at the ones I tried. For desert, go to the market 100 m from there and buy the small sweet bananas or if the season is right, rambutan or manggis (just delicious)....
