Favorite thing: There are these the local version of the Mini-mart. You can pickup your toiletries,snacks,canned food,soft drinks and other items here.
Favorite thing: Visit Yangon. Apart from the Shwedagon Pagoda (on the picture), Yangon offer other interesting sites like the Sule Pagoda.
Favorite thing: Visit Bagan. Get lost in the villages surronding the temples. Meet the people. They are nice, friendly and kind. They have as many questions on you as you on them. Just enjoy of a friendly chat.
Favorite thing: Visit Inle Lake. In the western shore of the Inle Lake you should not miss the Inn Thein Pagoda complex, its colums and its ruins in the middle of the jungle.
Favorite thing: Visit Inle Lake. Another unique spot of Myanmar is the Inle Lake with its floating gardens. Basically they grow crops over the waters of the lake and they can move them around like in the picture.
Favorite thing: Visit Bagan. In Bagan you can find the Kyat Kan Cave monastery and pay a visit to the monks. As a Buddhist country it is easy to find young monks.
Visit Mandalay Hill. Just below you should not miss the Kuthodaw Pagoda known as the world's largest book as it has 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures.
Fondest memory: Sunset from Mandalay Hill.
Favorite thing: Visit Mandalay Hill and once more enjoy the sunsets and sunrises of Myanmar. From there you can rest and watch the city of Mandalay and the surrounding landscape.
Favorite thing: Visit Mandalay. Close to the bridge you can find the Bagaya Monastery with a collection of Buddha statues.
Favorite thing: I sail for a week on the Road to Mandalay a beutiful river boat that take arround 50 people in a trip up the ayeyarwady river an wonderful way to see the country side
Fondest memory: Out of all areas of Burma I visited, I enjoyed Shan hills the most. The climate is pleasant there, not as hot as in Rangoon... and the people are as nice as elsewhere.
