    The Market

by lotharscheer Updated Jul 3, 2015

The daily market near the river, about 300 meters west of the Friendship Hotel, is quite interresting, selling vegetables, fruits, meat and a lot of cheap chinese products. Bargaining is a must!

    Bamboo beer station: Sunset Beer

by lotharscheer Updated Jul 2, 2015

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Bamboo beer station (about 700 meters south east of the Friendship Hotel, behind the Police station) is a nice place for a sunset beer and some food on Gwa Ya Lake.

Favorite Dish: I had some Lady Finger Skewers, and a very nice Hot & Sour Soup

Most likely you have to spend a night in Sinbo, boats to Sinbo only if there is enough water, otherwise by bus or pickup to Sinbo and boat from there.

    The ruins of Sampanago

by lotharscheer Updated Jun 9, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Go to the ruins of Sampanag, the way there (Shwe Kyina Pagoda an Bamboo Bridge) is more interresting then the remaining pile of rubble, about 5 km walking or donkey cart (tell the driver to go to Bhamo Myo Haung, old Bhamo city).
