a plump moslem woman sat behind the counter and there were the usual things for sale that one sees in the stalls by the road plus a few news papers and magazines. they are very keen on health oriented magazines, like the americans and europeans are interested in self help books.

There are two areas for waiting for the plane. one is for the generals with its shiny column and clean floors, and the rest for others whether or not you are a tourist. i was able to wander around the airport as i wished and went even as far as the runway and the control tower. there were some gun toting soldiers but the overall feeling is one of laid back.
