BAGAN
When in Bagan I decided to hire a horse and cart instead of my usual bike hire...mainly because of the extreme heat . I had previously used bicycle hire but here I decided against it two fold..mainly because of the heat, and also to get stranded way out among the "chedis" as a German couple did I decided against it. The horse and cart was a great choice and also the shade of the covered cart and the relaxing way of gently plodding along the dirt roads had a certain charm about it. The long distances to be covered during the whole of the day was also another worry!!..My hotel organised the transport of the Horse cart and driver for the day and it was a really cheap transport option for the whole day it was US$10.00.*I carried extra water for the horse and a plastic bag that I could put inside my hat for the water to be poured..Once again I advise to carry more than sufficient bottled water with you for the day..
