The cave of the Kyazittha.

This simple brick building constructed during the reign of Anawratha, houses some of the most impressive frescoes i´ve seen in Myanmar. The building was used as a place for lodging the monks for centuries. All the walls and ceilings are beautifully painted ( some of the paintings are from the 11th and 12th century). The interior is very dark, only has some small windows so a torch is needed to see the paintings. One of the most amazing places to see in Bagan.

A stone cave temple near Shwezigon. The souvenir vendor at the entrance has the keys to temple gates. However there are no lightings in the cave.. so do come with a touchlight to see the painting inside the cave.
