Sugar Cane Juice

Sugar cane juice is a popular thirst quencher throughout the country. We drank it a few times without ill effects but one word of caution...It is quite often presoaked in water!! So there is a good chance of getting sick from it. It is very delicious and cheap. It is found on almost every street that has any amount of people walking down it and also can be found in most of the small restaurants. This photo here is taken behind a small restaurant in Nyaung U on the way to Old Bagan.

I liked the atmosphere of Nyuang U. It is a small town that offered lot's of small guesthouses to take care of the lower end traveler. There are plenty of tea shops and places to eat offering all...
