You hire the car and make the trip to Kyaik Hti Yoe. It is about 180km from Yangon and about 6 hours drive. You can visit pagodas and monastery in Bago on the half way.

Your hired car can drop you at the Kim Pun Camp in Kyaik Hto Township, Mon State. You can have lunch at the base Camp or find one guest house and leave your luggages if you like to overnight because you can find easily many restaurants and guest houses.
Price per night (US$ 15-25)

Then you get the truck to the Mount Yathe Terminal. About an hour drive by truck is the most exciting activity that you have never had! When you arrived the Mt.Yathe Terminal, the another activity is to do steep hiking for 45mins.
If you are not strong enough, the 4 men will carry you till the entrance fee gate.

5 mins walk from Mt.Yathe Terminal, it is Goldent Rock Hotel.
5-10 mins walk from Golden Rock Pagoda, there are Mountain Top Hotel and Kyaik Hto Hotel. Price per night (US$ 35-45)

Have a nice trip!

Moulemein was the capital of British Burma. after independence, it became the capital of smuggling from Thailand. A large number of Bangladeshis arrived to swell the already a sizable portion of south indian muslims. There are sunni and other moslem prayer halls. of the three in the main street, i liked this one best, with its turquoise paint.
