Well this isn't really a tourist trap but could be considered one by some people. Outside of town before you cross the Ava Bridge there is a booth set up where all foreigners must pay US$3 to enter the Sagaing - Mingun Archaelolgical Zone. It also gains you entrance to all of the areas Temples. You must keep the ticket with you at all times. But I was never asked to see mine. It is valid for 5 days. For most people 5 days would be sufficient to see the sites that the ticket covers.
Unique Suggestions: The Sagaing - Mingun area is quite large so it's not like it only covers a couple of small Payas.
