The only entertainment you can get at night... watch a movie in the cinema. The cinema is in town, 3 types of prices: 200Kyat, 300Kyat and 500Kyat. I dont know if there are foreign movie but I only saw Myanmar movie in Hsipaw.
The audience are to stand up to pay respect to the national flag before the start of the movie but most people dont really care (unlike Thailand). And there are long MTV and advertisement before the movie started..
If you never watched a Myanmar movie before, it is good to let you know that Myanmar movie is lengthy and not logical (to me). I watched 2 Myanmar movie during my stay in the country and fall asleep for both... :|

I'm a bit of a night bird really, and did find it somewhat hard to come to terms with everything closing relatively early in Myanmar. I did, however, on a Saturday night, find a most unusual entertainment in Hsipaw.
There is quite a large cinema in the middle of town which normally shows Burmese / Indian films. The Burmese, however, absolutely love football, particularly European and specifically English. They are obsessed with it, so, on Saturday or Sunday night (allowing for the time difference) you can get to see live Premisership football in the cinema. I appreciate that this might be perceived as a bit of a "touristy" thing to do, but I really didn't fancy going to bed that early, and ended up having a fun night watching Chelsea vs. Colchester in the FA Cup in company with some very friendly local guys.
Entrance is a very reasonable 200 kyat in the stalls or 300 in the balcony. This equates to about 20 or 30 cents US respectively.
