I always like to go here when i am downtown and i don't feel like going anywhere a bit more fancy. Or when i'm just in a hurry. The food is very good and the price even better. It is a place that is usually packed and for a good reason. Service is good and food arrives fast. And, easy for me, it is vegetarian unless you order some meat to go with it.

It is a place that is very easy to find and on more than one occasion i've seen some tourists here. Not that it is a very touristy place, it is usually crammed with locals, but with good and cheap food it is logical it attracts all kinds of people.

Prices depend of course on what you order but for a chappati i usually pay around 700 kyats ), a thali is around 1.000 kyats (no meat).

The big restaurant that I used to visit has been moved to a street near Kandawgyi Lake. There is still a small restaurant on Sule Pagoda Rd and there is another in downtown but not sure which street. Will check on that soon.

Favorite Dish: I'm a huge chappati fan...

Chettys are originally from Southern India and they are trades supreme. In fact they were in Malaysia before the Malays became Moslems!!
they are to be found all over the world where they had gone trading, including parts of the world one does not expect to find immigrant indians, there were Chettys who travelled with the well known chinese navigator Zheng He

Favorite Dish: You can order the meal for the day which would consist of various curries and condiments
