Fun things to do in Yangon Division

When you come in Myanmar ,the first one you have to know is you have to bring crisp ,good and clean dollars.Money exchanger don't accept tear,old ,stain dollars and even 2006 date notes ,CB and AB notes.
Exchange rates are also different between big note and small note.When somebody told you today exchange rate ,it means for 100 notes.If you change small notes,you will get lower amount than 100 notes.Smaller note , smaller amount.
eg.The exchange rate is 820 Kyats(Myanmar currency) for 100 notes ,it will be 810 Kyats for 50 notes.
Nowadays ,although there are official exchange counter at main air ports(Yangon , Mandalay , Bagan and Inle,etc) and down town in Yangon , local people are not allowed to change money.Some people want to change in black market,yes it is sure they will be cheated by the exchanger vendors.They will tell you ,they can't change with official rate and sometime more than ofiicial rate.Oh,you are going to change with them ,check your money exactly in front of them.OK,it is perfect.When you are back in your hotel ,check your money again.Your money is less than when you check in front of them.They are like magicians.

Don't try to change money at balck market ,when you are in Myanmar.
Make sure your dollars are clean, crisp and good.

When you are in Myanmar , you have to use Myanmar money ( Kyat ) for food , transportation and to buy souvenirs . So, you have to change money : the best place to get the best rate and easy to do it at the air port , there are two exchange counters at the airport . KBZ bank's exchange counter is the best place to get the best rate .
But , you have to queue so long and they open only 8;00 am to 5:00 pm . Their break time is : 12:00 to 1:00 .
There are some exchange counters in the down town . In there , you no need to queue.

When you get tyred of strolling you may go to seat in some of the parks , in some of them you must pay , but they are as quite as you may imagine

El Buda de Chaukhtatgy junto con el de Bago son de los m?s grandes que hay en el pais.
Los pies de Buda son dignos de verse

The Chaukhtatgy Buddha and the one in bago are the biggest sleeping Buddhas in the country

Nos llevamos una gran desilusión cuando entramos en este templo ya que pensabamos que Swedagon era parecido y la verdad es que no nos pareció ninguna maravilla , aunque hay quien dice que es muy atractivo
Esta al lado del Shwedagon y se pasa a este através de una pasarela

We were disappointed when we went in this temple as we thought that should be similar to Shwedagon and really we thought that it was not very nice , Though some body says that is very attractive
It is besides the Shwedagon and you pass to it through a runway

Al ponerse el sol y cuando empieza a oscurecer se llena el templo de gentes de todas las edades que vienen a rezar y a hacer ofrendas a los distintos budas que hay en el templo.
Este templo se ve desde practicamente todo Yangon ya que esta sobre una colina en la que se puede acceder en un ascensor
Realmente es un sitio que vale la pena pues además de que es bonito, tiene buenas vibraciones

At sunset and when it starts the darkness the temple becomes full of people of all ages that come to pray and to make offerings to the different Buddha statues that are on the temple
You may see this temple practically from all Yangon as it is on a hill that you may reach with elevator
Besides that is very beautiful , it has good vibrations

Esta situada en el centro de Yangon completamente integrada con la vida de la cudad.
En su estupa central se dice que hay un pelo de Buda
La cúpula de la estupa no es convencional ,ya que pasa de la base octogonal a una forma de campana , terminando en una forma de cuenco invertido

It is located in Yangon center fully integrated with the town life
In the central stupa they say that there is a hair of Buddha
The top of the stupa is not conventional , as it passes from an octagon base to a bell shape , finishing as an inverted bowl

Under the awnings on many of the streets you will find everything for sale from fruit to cheap sunglasses! I certainly bought a bunch of fruit from places like this. Oranges make a great snack and give you the vitamin C you need!! You need but a few hundred Kyat for a big ol bag of Oranges!
