ATM's
There are ATM's in PP and Siem Reap. There are also ATM's in Sihanoukville. There were at least 3 there when I was there last year. So, if someone tries to tell you that you can only get cash out in the Capital, it is not true.

US$ is king in Cambo however small street stalls/shops might find it hard to give change for a one dollar purchase from a 10 or 20$ bill. I usually like to exchange say $50 to $100 into riel and keep the rest in US$. The exchange rate will be about 4000riel to one dollar.Your guesthouse will like to be paid in US$ but it wont be demanded. Riel will be accepted as is US$ anywhere in Cambo, for any purchase.Payment in US$ for big/expensive purchases (hotel bills, restuarant bills, travel bills etc, etc) and payment in riel for small/inexpensive items (ice cream, fruit, drink, small snack, books, taxi fare, T-shirt, tips. Living in P.P for 6 months. I miss the genuine friendships I made with Khmers.
I saw many kids there , they are so cute but they are very poor. Our guide said the kids there have half day studying , half day make money . but i found them all the time.. begging , selling the souvenir .. thats so pity . Prepare some candies which is very welcome by them .
USD is more popular than the local currency. I heard this when i prepared my trip there.. but be sure to have more small change like USD1. USD2. I changed my money at the last minute and the bank here only provide USD50,USD20, which is not so convenient. because when you buy sth. you may not know the money you get back is fake or real one.

Today is the 16th June and it is our last day here...how sad...as we really enjoy it! The weather is very humid, it's now about high 80's . Enjoy all the sights! People here are extra wonderful as it's a smaller scale of people. What I personally did not enjoy much is the water village, that is where much of the poverty is showned to tourists...you feel like giving the clothes you wear as many of them hardly have enough to cover themselves, other than that, we are enjoying Siem Reap. The food is delicious!
To enhance your appreciation of Cambodia you should read a book about Cambodia's recent history and the trajesties of the Pol Pot Regime. Acquiant yourself with the mighty Khmer empire of years past. Read up a little bit on Buddhism and Hiduism, and with all the new knowledge you will be armed with you will understand and enjoy this trip all the more
Ok let's face it, where else can you get an hour long massage for 10$? I mean you are on vacation! So take an hour to relax and get a nice massage, and don't forget to tip your massouse nicely! On my trip to Cambodia and Thailand I got so many massages that there was one point, about two weeks into the trip, where the thought of getting another massage made me feel ill! Now theres a feeling I'd kill to have now
If you're staying in Cambodia for 7 days and 6 nights, I will propose that 3 days in Phnom Penh (eg. the grand palace, killing fields, prison, temples & markets) and 4 days in Siem Reap because half a day will be taken up for travelling from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and you will need at least 3 days to really appreciate Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples. The other day you can enjoy yourself in Siem Reap and do your last minute shopping before you say goodbye. It has to be Angkor Wat! Simply stunning and amazing!
always have appropriate attire on when you are visiting wats and the royal palace. i didnt know that the royal palace required me to cover up, so i went in shorts and a sleeveless tee. i was immediately carted off to put on a sarong.

when the bus went off the road in the countryside ,but we got to see and meet the real people of cambodia where tourist dont stop. the people made us very welcome and did not ask inflated prices because we were tourists. the people
