Prasat Kuhanokor has been completely restored. There are nice gardens in the courtyard. The Kingdom of Cambodia Ministry of Tourism says:"Prasat Kuh Nokor is located in Trodoc Poung Village, Pong Ror Commune, Baray District, Kampong Thom Province and is in the complex of Wat Kuh Nokor (Buddhist Pagoda). To reach there, passenger can take all kinds of vehicle on National Road 6, then turn west through the gate of Kuh Nokor pagoda in a distance of 2km. It is 79km from Provincial Town of Kampong Thom. These sanctuaries were built on the flat ground, on a square terrace made of laterite and sandstone facing to the East with the rampart surrounding. This rampart has a 35m-length (East to West) and a 25m-width (North to South). There is surrounding rampart of one meter height and 0.8 meter thick with two gateways: Eastern gateway is 9m height divided into 3 rooms, and western gateway is small...

Kuhanokor Wat and School

by AlbuqRay

Prasat Kuhanokor is located within the grounds of an active wat and school. One of the teachers and some of his students came over to greet us (we were the only visitors at the site). There is a sign showing where to turn to Prasat Kuhanokor on NH6. It is about 2 km through a village to get there.

Outside Prasat Kuhanokor

by AlbuqRay

Prasat Kuhanokor is a small 11th-century Khmer temple on the grounds of an active wat and school. There is no admission but there is a donation box. The site has been completely restored. It is only ~2 km west of NH6 and an easy stop on the way to Kampong Thom from Phnom Penh. A walking tour can be done in about 30 minutes.

Atsu Village and School

by AlbuqRay

On the access road between NH64 and Sambor Prei Kuk, you will pass Atsu village and school. They are a memorial to Atsuhito Nakata, a UN volunteer, who was killed on 8 April 1993 with Lay Sopheap supposedly by Khmer Rouge guerrillas. His family founded a school for children in the place where he was assassinated.
