Beach Road Hotel and Restaurant: Good atmosphere..... Good food

by shavy Updated Jan 17, 2016

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is a big restaurant and can accommodate for groups and parties. It has sitting upstair but most tables are downstairs. This hotel and restaurant is very busy all the time even though there were so many restaurants in Sihanoukville, but most people came here for dine

We staying at this hotel and so convenient place for dinner, they also have happy hour everynight as it is a restaurant is also known as pub in Sihanoukville. Inside you can enjoy playing Pole , I think this is also a main plus for people coming here for drinks

On their menu you can choose from burger, pasta and local food the choice is yours. From drinks you will overwhelmed by choices, from ordinary soft drinks, juices, cocktails and strong whisky. You must come here during happy hour from 5-7pm when all alcoholic drink is on half price

They serve food from early morning till late at night, the kitchen is open all day. Service is great and fast. Staffs are friendly and well good in English, prices are affordable depends on you choice. The portion isn't really big for the price, but there is always in the menu if you want to choose a second dish

Sam's: Tasty Curries (once upon a time)

by AndreSTGT Written Oct 23, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This simple hole-in-the-wall place on Weather Station Hill above Victory Beach has some of the best local curries in Cambodia.
A huge portion (enough for two) costs less than 2$.

2005 update : this place still exists, but no Khmer curries on the menu anymore, plenty of western and thai food though. The times have changed. It's still cheap, but with so many great dining opportunities on offer in Sihanoukville nowadays, i wouldn't recommend it anymore.

Restaurant provides diferent kinds of dishes frm Khmer to Western. Most of food is prepared with much vinegar. It's not fit Indochinese tast at all.
The price could range frm 3 - $8.
It takes quite a long time to prepare.
However, the boy (staff) was really nice to us.
    Beer: 1 can: $1, 1 jug: $3.5.

@: Tomyam is the best :)

    Favorite Dish: Tomyam

This is one of the better restaurants in Kampong Som. Not only is the food good, but the atmosphere is great as well. This open air restaurant with a large outdoor terrace has an excellent view of the ocean, islands off the coast of Cambodia, and the town.

Favorite Dish: Try the local fish.

Errr.. The Beach: Pineapple on the Beach

by DrewV Updated Jul 10, 2003

If you're a Barang (foreigner), you can be assured that a young girl (or boy-girl) will beg you to buy a pineapple on the beach. These kids can get VERY annoying, so sometimes it helps to buy the pineapple just to shut them up. They'll overcharge initially, but you can bargain down to 2000 riel ($0.50). They cut the pineapple right in front of you and to be honest, it's totally worth it -- the pineapple is perfectly sweet and ripe and makes for great refreshment.

These kids are having fun, not selling pineapple

    Beach BBQ: BBQ'd seafood

by Willettsworld Written May 2, 2010

While in Sihanoukville you simply have to try out a beach BBQ. I had one on Ochheuteal Beach where I had nine king prawns, fries, salad and a beer for under $10! Great stuff!

Tutti Frutti: Good breakfasts & crepes

by Willettsworld Written May 2, 2010

This small and friendly place is run by a French guy on Victory Hill. I came here a few times for breakfast where they do some great crepes, milk shakes and fruit juices.
